Accented characters in mailing subject trigger mail() failure
April 17, 2014, 08:40:24 am
Has anyone come across this? When using an accented character in a mailing subject, such as système or déjà (writing in FR), and testing the mail, I get a mail() error (as per attachment).

The very same mailing, removing the accented character from the mailing subject works.

I tried putting html entity (è) instead of è, but that didn't work either.

Does anyone have a fix for this? I can't seem to find answers to it anywhere :(

Thanks

Good question.  This may be a bug.  If you are using CiviCRM 4.4.5, please file an issue describing the problem at: https://issues.civicrm.org
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

I'm on 4.4.4. I pretty much just finished getting the site ready to go, with some core hacks required to make Civi public profiles play nice with a bilingual install of WordPress. So I haven't updated to 4.4.5 yet. I'll try and do that over the next week. If it hasn't resolved itself, I'll log a bug. Thanks.
