Paypal Pro Recurring Contributions not recorded in User's Contribution Record

Hi,

We've been using Paypal Website Payments Pro with Drupal 7 and Civi 4.3.5 for a while now. We've recently discovered that when we look at a donor's record who we know made a recurring donation, the first donation is recorded in their Contributions tab, but all subsequent contributions do not appear at all in their record. We do know that the donations are being processed as per the recurring schedule as confirmed by the paypal transaction record, but for some strange reason, Civi's not recording the subsequent contributions. What could possible be the cause of this? Would a Civi upgrade resolve this issue?

This is often because the payment was processed through the Paypal Express method (which is when they click the Orange Paypal button) rather than Paypal Pro Recurring Payments.  The difference is subtle but the problem is confirmed in 4.2 and 4.3.  I think it is corrected in 4.4.

PS. Why run 4.3.5?  Always run the last in the series of any version of CiviCRM to enjoy the greatest reliability.  Plus your version is insecure.

I think Jamie pushed my paypal recurring fix into 4.4.5.

I can definitely tell you that we've deactivated the paypal express option, and that the entire recurring donation submission is happening completely on the civicrm side. The recurring donation details are being successfully sent to paypal via the API, but the user never leaves the domain/webpage where they initiated the first of the recurring donations. Sounds like we'll have to upgrade to 4.4 or 4.4.5......
