Upgrade 4.2 to 4.45 Not Updating Database (Someone Please Comment)
April 18, 2014, 01:36:29 pm

Ran the upgrade without errors and get to the screen which asks if you want to upgrade.
Clicked on Upgrade Now and get an empty screen except for the WP menu on left. The “Upgrade Successful” message never appears.

Clicking on the CiviCRM link on the left opens the  CiviCRM home.
On this page it does say "Powered by CiviCRM 4.4.5. "
On the CiviCRM home, there is nothing appearing after "access keys:_"

And the database table civicrm_domain still has it at version 4.216.
The Administer CiviCRM page is quite messed up with menu choices duplicated in several places.
Any links I click take about a minute to load. One of the links opened a page with a message that said “table does not exist”.

I’m thinking the database update did not run as expected, but without any error messages, I’m really lost.

Can someone please help. Been at this for 3 days now.

Thanks.

Try restoring from backup, switching to a default theme before you upgrade.  Without knowing more about your configuration, or having access to your site or error logs, this I think is all someone can offer you on the forums.   I also suggest trying CiviHosting.com.

I know you are frustrated.   CiviCRM 4.4 works.  If you have been at this for 3 days you may be near the point of thinking how much your own time is worth and hire professional help at: https://civicrm.org/providers if you can afford a consultant.

Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.
