CiviCase for goal setting

Hey, I was thinking of utilizing CiviCase for setting up goals for my project. I would basically look at having three parameters: goal criteria i.e. what the goal is, the number for meeting the goal, and the timeframe e.g. a trainee at a software company might have a goal like number of certifications in the relevant domain, the number would be 2, and the time frame would be 1 year.
Does anyone have any idea if they have tailored/modified CiviCase for their organization for a above said example.

What is the reasoning behind using CiviCase for this? I can not picture the process you are talking about? Do you mean you want to use CiviCase for the project and set up custom data to hold the data about the goal?
