CiviEvent registration fails with 500 error - but no error logs
April 21, 2014, 09:36:20 pm
Wanted to report that on my civi 4.4.5 (updated today in hunting down this error) running on Drupal 7.2 I have had a problem similar to the one reported in this old post regarding Civi 4.1.2 (Topic: CiviEvent registration fails with 500 error - but no error logs http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=24526.0).  In my case it wasn't pay later that was causing the problem as described in that post.   While I wasn't able to fully track the cause down, it seemed to be some combination of having custom fields and various other settings.  It may be that the form was in some sense "too complex" and that's what was triggering the error.

The symptoms were the same: 500 error on user browser, no record in civi logs.

The solution seems to be the same as well - disable pdf attachments at /civicrm/admin/setting/misc?reset=1
