Deleting custom fields returns error/does not delete

Joomla 3.2.3
PHP 5.3.20
db: mySQLi
CiviCrm 4.4.5

Actual objective is to change Custom Data Set i created to change from "Contact" to "Individual".

Can't change Custom Data Set.
Can't move custom fields from one data set to another because of the difference in type; individual vs contact.

So then want to delete Custom Data Set and create new one for "Individual".

Must delete all custom fields first, hover when trying to do so get error:

Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
DB Error: not found

Have you checked the database picture? You will need to check civicrm_custom_group, civicrm_custom_field and check if the table_names and column_names in there actually do exist?

Hi Karen,

I have the same problem with trying to delete custom fields.
Did you find a solution?
