Successful Install *almost* - Where is my Configuration Checklist?
April 25, 2014, 11:25:50 am
According to my Wordpress Install, I have successfully installed CiviCRM but that's it... The only thing that remains in the Wordpress Dashboard is the CiviCRM Installer.  Nothing else of the plugin is listed.  According to the YouTube tutorial I've watched regarding this install, I should be seeing a lengthly Configuration Checklist.

I had some trouble with my initial install due to an install path issue but I think I may have resolved that.  In order to get CiviCRM to install, I had to remove one instance of { DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . 'civicrm' } from these lines (68, 69, 71) from the install/index.php file.

Can someone help me?

The installer is known to work so if you modified it, we can't be sure what happened with your install. I saw your other post but I'm not sure precisely what the issue is. I would suggest that it might be best to get the installer to work without edits, so that then we would be able to help further with your install, as then it would be standard.

My first post in the other thread listed my issue of a warning and 'fatal error' as a result of following the unmodified install.  Only after modifying the path in the index.php was I able to proceed with the install.

The error is a path leading to /civicrm/civicrm//core/... etc.

After uploading the files, I do not have a civicrm folder inside the civicrm folder.  I was also confused by the duplicate directory separator.

Other people have posted this similar problem but I cannot find where anyone has posted the solution.

Update... (but still not there yet)...  In my initial install attempt I had made an error in uploading the unzipped contents of the installer .zip file and I had eliminated one of the civicrm folders (sorry for my confusion).

I have removed all components and started the process over from scratch.  Here's where my problems are now:

After checking the database connection and getting solid green OKs across the board; I click the install button and after approximately 3 minutes of waiting, I get a '500 Internal Server Error'.

Can anyone give me guidance on this?

What is your MySQL version?

Are any errors recorded in the server logs?

Thanks for your response...

I contacted my ISP and they checked some event logs.

The problem was the PHP version.  I was using a 5.3 FastGCI but that was causing time out errors for the install.  I downgraded to PHP 5.3 GCI and that allowed the install to complete properly.

Thanks again...
