Hi everyone,

I've been trying to figure out how to find contacts not in a particular group, but the various search methods don't seem to cater to this (at least not as far as I'm able to figure out). I have seen mentions of a "Include/Exclude Contacts in a Group/Tag" custom search which I'm sure would do the job but for some reason it doesn't appear under the custom searches in my installation. The only ones that do show up are Activity Search, Contacts by Date Added, Contributors by Aggregate Totals, and Proximity Search.

So... how might I accomplish the "not in group" search? I've also tried finding out if I can somehow re-add the Include/Exclude search but haven't found anything.

Could it be that include/exclude is disabled?

It's a super handy search, so it's worth looking for.

Check: Administer>Custom Data and Screens> Manage Custom Searches

The search you want is: CRM_Contact_Form_Search_Custom_Group

Check the "more" arrow and see if you need to enable it.

I agree! It's incredibly useful. Strangely, it is not disabled (nor are any of the others), just not showing up on the drop down -- but thank you for pointing me to that manage page, because I can at least run it from there! Thank you!
