documentation and an absence bug
May 06, 2014, 08:29:58 am
Hi.

My organization has been using civicrm for four years and is very interested in creating a separate civihr instance to manage our hr related workflows.  I've installed civihr 1.2 in drupal 7 and am starting to play around with it.  I've run into some problems.

1.  It is quite difficult to understand how all the extensions are supposed to work together.  I assume civicase works in conjunction with some of the civihr extensions (such as absences) so workflows can be built around approving sick time, etc.  I just can't figure out how to do this since there is no documentation that I am aware of.

2.  For some reason I can't view absences when I click on the tab in a record.  No data is displayed.  When i view things like the summary tab, change log or medical & disability the appropriate data is shown.

Thanks for putting this together.  I can help put some documentation together if someone can provide a broad general overview of the functions of all the extensions and how they should interact.

I keep getting this error in the drupal logs:

Warning: file_get_contents(var/www/sites/default/files/civicrm/extensions/civihr/hrabsence/js/tabs/views.js): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in drupal_build_js_cache() (line 4956 of /var/www/includes/common.inc).

Possibly related to why I can't see any absences.

Hi Tim,

I have had a chat with Yashodha about your issues. She will post a reply shortly.

Hi Tim,
Can you try to replicate the issue in sandbox site http://civihr.demo.civicrm.org ?
When user have proper permissions, then he should be able to see absences in tab if any.
Also if you login through admin , you should be able to see all absences of contact in absence tab if any.
Can you do fresh install with new code-base for CiviHR1.2 and CiviCRM4.4.5+ ; as specified file must be there in code-base?

I will do a fresh install of civihr 1.2 and civiCRM 4.4.5 tomorrow and report back.

I'm really looking forward to using this!

Thanks!

I reinstalled civihr 1.2.0 in a drupal 7 civi 4.4.5 environment and i'm experiencing the same problems.

I can't see absences and I'm logged in as the drupal #1 user.  See screen shot.

I can't even see absences when I try to look at the sample data.

Please see screen.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening?  I've installed from scratch twice and get the same results every time.

It seems that there are some js/css files missing from your codebase.

Can you refer doc/INSTALL.md  (can also refer from https://github.com/civicrm/civihr/blob/1.2/doc/INSTALL.md) and follow the mentioned steps with CiviCRM version 4.4.5 and check?

Thanks

This mistake was all mine.  I had the installation scripted and had a typo in my extensions directory path.  Providing the correct path solved the problem.

Sorry for any confusion!
