CiviCRM Extension: Prevent sending event registration confirmation from the back-office

This extension to CiviCRM looks like it may solve an issue we are having. We wish to not send out receipt emails when registering someone to an event. We are running CiviCRM 4.4.4 on Joomla 3. When I go to System Settings - Manage Extensions and select Add New, this extension doesn't come up as compatible.

But if I go to https://civicrm.org/extensions, then I see the extension.

I have downloaded the ZIP file. But am not sure how I need to install it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi

I seem to have the same problem, when we add a registration to the back-office it sends an email confirmation even if we click on the request for it not to.

Is this only remedied by using a file extension? Which seem very complex to upload and use?

Regards

William

I've updated the extension so you can install it from the back office.

check out the doc on how to do install extensions automatically.

I am having the same issue - Civi is sending 'registration confirmation' emails for people I am inviting to join an event (a status I created) and even when I select "do not send an email" it sends an email anyway. This seems like a bug, but the only way to fix it is to download an extension? Isn't there a way to control when emails are sent out from the admin front end?  I am using CiviCRM 4.5.4 on Wordpress 4.0.1

On closer examination. I realize now that there's a whole group of field called 'Registration confirmation' that gives you the option of sending an email and who it should come from and any additional message to include. Unfortunately, that field group was only displayed when I clicked on the contact name in the form above (just a fluke that I did that). When I clicked on that name, it must have triggered something to load that extra set of fields. (screenshot of those fields attached)

So now I'm wondering how to fix this so that the field will show up without the user having the click on the contact name, and how do I uncheck that email notification option so that it isn't enabled by default?
