How to monitor IPN with CiviContribute
May 05, 2008, 01:04:12 pm
I've just discovered that IPN was broken for 6 weeks resulting in dozens of memberships not being processed. Any suggestions for how to ensure this is working. I am looking for a shell script or a monitoring solution of some sort.

any idea what happened and why it broke?

We've been inspired by drupal's aggressive approach to testing and are making a strong effort to write a fair number of unit and functional tests for some of the more frequently used CiviCRM operations. This might be useful in the future.

For your current state, i would probably put CiviCRM.log under rotateLogs and email that file to the admin group on a daily basis

At groundspring, we had scripts which would make small donations on a daily basis and then we'd check the db to ensure that the donations were happening. this was driven by nagios (though u do need to write custom scripts)

please share what you end up doing
