Membership stays as pending even though payment complete

Hi

I have a strange scenario with a CiviCRM site (4.3.4) running on Drupal (7.24).

I find a contact in CiviCRM and click Add Membership. I choose the membership based on a price set and record the payment against the membership, setting the payment status to completed. When I save, the Contribution is set to Completed, but the Membership stays on Pending.

If I then edit the membership and change the Member Since date to yesterday (i.e. change 05/14/2014 to 05/13/2014), the membership changes to New.

If I repeat the process exactly but change the Member Since date from today to yesterday when first entering the membership and payment (i.e. change 05/14/2014 to 05/13/2014), the membership is automatically set to New when I save.


Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

Hi millionleaves
The only think I can think of here is that you may have an issue with the time/date on the server where your site is running. When you create the membership it stays as pending because CiviCRM thinks its not yet time for the membership to be active. but if you tell CiviCRM that the start date was yesterday it all works. Maybe your server is an hour or two out?

Thanks for your help.

I looked at the time settings on the site and the server and they were both fine. And then .... as if by magic, things are now working as they ought to. I hate magic - it can't be explained. I didn't change anything, anywhere, just looked at the settings and now it works....
