How to assign a specific Drupal role to a new CiviCRM member upon registration.

How do I automatically assign a specific drupal role, e.g "Member", during the registration rather than "Authorized"?

I've setup a civicrm profile that allows a visitor to complete a form, pay a membership fee, and automatically generate a Drupal account for logging into the website, but when the drupal account is created, it sets the role to "Authorized User".  I have a preference for assigning the new member the role of "Member" which is already defined in Drupal Permissions.

Is there a simple way to automatically get Drupal to assign the new user to the "Member" role rather than "Authorized"????

civimember roles synch module should take care of this for you

you map certain membership type+status to certain roles

note that when testing, a users won't show as having a new Role associated with a new membership until they login

@petednz - Thanks for picking this up!

Can you clarify a bit for me please?  The "Module" CiviRoles Sync" (a drupal module) no longer exists, but rather says that it was pulled into the civicrm core 2.1.2+  so my question is how/where do I find this in the CiviCRM menu structure, please.  I see the "Synchronize Users to CiviCRM" under civicrm Administration > Users and permissions, but not sure this is it.

To clarify my own situation, the site is new, but I pulled about 6,000 contacts into civicrm from the old system (this old system did not have the concept of user login, permissions, etc.).  So after lots of cleanup, the contacts and a subset (members) was pulled into civicrm.  Now I'm setting up the new site to accomodate online joining (new contacts) which works except for the automatic assignment of a Drupal role, "Member" upon registration. ... < and that's what I need. AND yes, ultimately I'll need to take the existing subset of members and provide login credentials and  a Drupal role for them, too. :-\

BTW: I know you've discussed this topic in earlier forums ... thanks for enduring the monotony.
