Message Template Creation Conundrum

Unwanted class attribute kills image

Man, I could scream. Inexperience tells!

Without any notable problems, I have created quite a few message template e-newsletters in CiviCRM, which uses CKE.

Now, suddenly, some random code gets shoved into the source code and I cannot get rid of it! The result is that it kills the image src code. I'm at my wits end, having tried too many workarounds to list.

Although a browser program re-start changes the alpha characters between the quotes, this is an example what gets shoved in. I can't successfully and permanently excise from the code and it seems to be what stops the image displaying in the visual editor screen.

What the hell am I doing wrong?

EDIT
I tried using a PNG file, in case the jpg contained something odd. No better .

Well, I tried afresh, using Opera v12.17. It worked. But when the same message template was opened in firefox, that blasted class attribute appeared and made the picture disappear. (As a consequence, I presume) Also, it opens OK in Sea Monkey v2.26, without the same effect as FF v29.0.1.

And now I think about it, there was a FF update not so very long ago. Maybe the culprit?

If I understand what you are saying (which I'm not sure I do) sounds like a browser or CKEditor issue of which Civi has very little control?  If you know HTML well, why use CKEditor at all?  Just turn off the WYSIWYG totally and code in peace.
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.
