Cannot view system generated pages and forms in website front end [RESOLVED]
May 18, 2014, 10:56:12 am
I am having problems viewing the system generated links for pages such as event registration. After I've created an event, I click to view the live event registration page, and it generates the link, however, all that is shown is my websites front page.  This is the link I am taken to: http://flintnaa.org/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/event/register&reset=1&id=7 but the actual registration page does not come up. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to resolve this issue?  Thanks so much!

It looks like your custom theme or 'permalink' structure is interfering with CiviCRM.

1. make a backup

2. find the 'permalink' setting in WordPress settings and change it to the default

3. switch to a default theme such as "TwentyThirteen"

This should make the page work.  If your theme is the problem your theme should be adapted to work as the default WP themes do.  Please understand CiviCRM cannot test compatibility with every custom themes and some custom themes are designed in a non-standard way.
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

I tried this and it worked.  Im a little upset that the theme i put some time into didnt allow civicrm to work properly.  Oh well.  At least the system is good to go now.  Thanks so much!!
