deleted contacts visible by quick search on last name

when searching in the quick search on last name, deleted contacts are also shown.

the deleted item of the contact is visible in the quickseach, the active item is not shown

Deleted contacts are stored in the Trash. You can delete them permanently to remove them entirely. See here:

http://book.civicrm.org/user/current/the-user-interface/undelete/

Maybe it would still make sense to exclude them by default from all CiviCRM-searches (unless explicitely selected)?! No idea how much work that would be but I stumbled across this issue a couple of times and it can be dangerous if you don't notice it.

Hey Guys,

I believe we are talking a bit techy on this question (it is a using civicrm forum, for end users). The issue is that search on lastname exposes contacts in trash. This sounds like a bug to me. As I understand everyone correctly it is a bug! And everyone is in favor for a solution.

@Myriam: A PR is a technicall term meaning a Pull Request. Which is that someone fixes this solution in CiviCRM Core and ask the core team to pull in the changes in the code.

Did someone file this issue on http://issues.civicrm.org?
