Civimember: newly joined members assigned to Joomla group
May 29, 2014, 02:50:06 pm
I have 3 different contribution forms for 3 different membership types/3 different user types.
When they join the profile assigns them to the corresponding group in civi.

I would like each group to be automatically assigned to the corresponding joomla group.
The idea is when they log in they see different content information. e.g. students see scholarship programs, others see different articles.

Any suggestions?
(Joomla 3.2.3, civi 4.4.5)

In the profiles i have set:
Joomla user account registration option?   Account creation required.
Include Joomla user account information links in search results?   Yes

I've installed: Plugin Manager: Authentication - CiviCRM
The tabs that I've used in older versions of civi are no longer working "Membership Status Access Control" and "Membership Type Access Control".

The link provided suggests you need CiviCRM-CiviAuthenticate. Have you got that installed and working? It sounds like you have tried but it is not working.

I note that its revisions notes show the latest version was made compatible with Joomla 2.6 Feb 10, but you are running 3.2.3. If you need help with that, I'd suggest posting to the github Issue queue for the Joomla plugin https://github.com/lcdservices/CiviCRM-CiviAuthenticate/issues and perhaps Brian will reply. My guess is that you may need to fund an upgrade for the version of Joomla you are using.
