PARTICIPANT NOTES not displaying in full in reports

Hi

We are fairly new to Civi and are booking for our 1st event, we have been using the participant notes section at the bottom of the back-office registration menu to record important details about the delegates. Unfortunately when we export a participant report only the 1st 50 characters of these notes are displayed, is there a way of increasing the number or need we learn to be briefer?
