Would be great if you can reproduce this on demo. i'm not sure what bug you are tripping on. You might also want to start a new forum thread, since this one seems to be a generic import broken thread

also, i think import is probably the most fragile / complex / hacked part of the code base right now. We will definitely restructure and simplify this in a future version, but for now, we need to live with its warts :(

To Donald,

Not to be disrespectful, but this entire thread seems to be about imports that declare successful, but that fail in part or in toto. I thought it was just me, but now I am (we are?) several. Import is pretty essential if not extremely essential, so I'm certainly thankful that the tool is being looked at.

At this point I am confident that my data is clean, it is only very basic address and email info, so I'm not getting type mis-match problems. So the failure has to be one of DB, permissions, configuration or software. In any case, it shouldn't be saying successful if nothing got loaded.

The definition of insanity is "continuing to beat your head against the wall while expecting a different result".

there are at least 4 posters on this thread. Most likely its a different issue with each one (though some might be related)

have you reproduced your problem on the demo machine? (in an environment we know that works as expected). if not, can you try to reproduce it there and let us know the outcome. Quite a few folks have done basic imports on the 2.0.x series successfully, so it does work on most systems.

You might also want to start of a new forum topic with your specific issue once u've reproduced it on demo

thanx

I was able to import the exact same file into the demo without problem. But I can't get it to import into our site.

We never had any import problems before upgrading from to 2.0.3. I've run multiple imports in the past. Now it doesn't matter if it's a fresh clean install or an upgraded site, I haven't been able to import whatsoever. I have a 2.0.2 site that imports fine.

I'll try installing a clean 2.0.2 and see if it'll import this file.

I'm happy to report that CiviCRM 2.0.4 is up on the SourceForge, AND! that I was able to upload the same file that failed last time.

More stress testing as I move to more complete datasets. (I just used my mini, clean, address data).

Thank you Donald.

I have also successfully loaded 400 rows of data, complete with my custom fields, and mapping turned on. Maps work. Feelin' good about this.

Yea! I may be able to get this other site fixed this weekend, then. I'll do some testing tonight and this weekend and let you know what I find out.

I'm also prepping for an upgrade to MySQL 5, so that may help out as well.
