Can participants review/edit their registrations?

I have a need for event participants to be able to review and/or edit their event registration. I'm using CiviCRM 3.9.1 on Joomla. Can this be done?

CiviCRM doesn't have a version 3.9.1 , 3.4.8 was the highest the 3 series went.  However, the answer is the same - not out of the box. 

4.5 will introduce editing of event registrations but that will be limited to back office users AFIK.
