Custom Data Profiles attached to an Event disappear

From what I can tell, whenever a custom data profile that is used by an Event is updated, the weights in the civicrm_uf_join table (which connects a profile to an entity such as an Event) are modified.  It appears however, that for Events, the top included profile must always have a weight of 1 and the bottom included profile must always have a weight of 2. 

Go in and see for yourself...when you update the bottom included profile and then look in the civicrm_uf_join table, you will see that there is still a relationship between the profile and the Event, but the weight is now set to 3 instead of 2.  If you look at the Event, the profile no longer appears.

Anyone else stumble over this recently?

Sorry i didn't see this before responding to your earlier post. This looks like a good lead - however I'm not able to replicate yet. What exact steps are you taking when you say "update a profile" ? Can you list the links you are clicking from what url's since and if you're changing form values etc. so we can nail this down.

Ok - we've committed a fix for this to 2.0:

The fix will be available in the 2.0.4 release - probably out in around 4 weeks. If you need it now you can see the changes here:

Hi Dave,

  Hey, was just about to respond with more details only to find out you fixed it.  Thanks!  I have applied the fix and things seem to be working swell now.  I'll have our Events admin people continue to pound on it today to see if they agree.
