Allow Access permissions to particular features
June 19, 2014, 07:52:59 pm
Hi,
We want to allow users to print their own name badges. To do this we navigate the user to something like https://<site address>/reg/civicrm/event/badge?reset=1&context=view&id=XX&cid=YY.

Now, everything works fine I we give them permission to "Access CiviEvent" in drupal settings and they can print their own badges. However, a side effect of this is that the user has access to much more than that. For example, when the user navigates to this page, (since access civicrm) permission is given to the user the Menu bar is displayed and she can navigate to other parts of CiviCRM e.g. home/dashboard using that which we do not want them to do.

So the question is, is there a way (any drupal modules etc.) to allow access to some particular page/feature, in this case name badge, WITHOUT giving them "Access CiviEvent" permission in drupal settings.

Note: We already use "nodeaccess" drupal module to restrict access to content/nodes within drupal, but I couldn't find a way to do that with civicrm.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alok

if there isn't a way in civi - can you just pull that info in to a block on the drupal side?
