Anyone have experience with Pantheon?
June 23, 2014, 11:26:14 am
I'm working with a client that's considering migrating to the Pantheon hosting platform (getpantheon.com). Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with running Civi on their Dev-Test-Live environment?

If so, what were your high and low points with the service? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Hey @LimaDev,  So far, they have been great to work with on run-of-the-mill Drupal projects. We are currently playing with a CiviCRM install. We're having issues getting the files / images to bind correctly when uploaded to the CiviCRM admin.

The bindings get mixed up when pushing code from Dev->Test->to Live.  I assume that we have to edit the civicrm.settings.php to work with Pantheon's servers.. ?

Pantheon support have us pointing the questions at Civi and we are getting no support on IRC from either.

Did you ever figure this out?

I'm working through some of that myself. I did find this resource:

http://www.kalamuna.com/news/civicrm-pantheon

That got me pointed in the right direction with a lot of this. The file paths with the bindings are a lot of fun, and I actually went a step further than the instructions and did the same thing for extensions and custom php/templates (to keep them under source control too). There's some edits that need to be made to make it work, especially with the extensions, but it very much can be done. I'm still working on the image path part of it, but that should at least get you started.

might want to check and use:

https://www.drupal.org/project/civicrm_starterkit

for pantheon deployments. Would be good to have one official supported pantheon distro so folks can collaborate and help each other out (and also incorporate the latest civi/drupal distros)
