Error using Authorize.net
May 12, 2008, 07:13:00 am
I just installed CiviCRM 2.0.3 on a Joomla 1.0.15 site.
Server PHP 5.2.5, Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS)

While running a test registration in CiviEvent I get the following error:
Code: [Select]
Payment Processor Error message
: 9001:Unknown System Error.

I have checked to see the I have the cURL extension enabled and I do.

This used to work when I have CiviCRm 1.8 installed. Recently upgraded...long story... and and found it was easier to just do a clean install. (or so I thought).

Any other ideas what I can check?

Thanks!
Shawn

Hey,

Let me clarify if I understand the situation: authorize.net was working fine when you were running on 1.8 and ceased to work after you made a clean install of 2.0.3 and moved configuration over from your old instance? Or did you actually upgrade?

Before moving forward, it would be worth to triple check whether payment processor configuration for your new site is identical as for previous one - if you're running your new instance under the same address.

Thx,
m

I tried to do an upgrade, but things just weren't working.  So I deleted all the tables and uninstalled and reinstalled 2.0.3.  So this is a clean install. I have printed out all of my config pages so I had those.  I did generate a new Payment key after I couldn't get it working initially.  I have double, triple-checked my configuration. I just went back again and re-entered everything and still go the same error.

Thanks for your help.

Shawn,

I skimmed through Authorize.net developer documentation and through transaction processor code, but didn't find anything that could be useful in your case.  Authorize.net integration is community contributed and we're not supporting it ourselves. You might want to get in touch with Ideal Solution guys, specifically Marshal Newrock (check: http://svn.civicrm.org/civicrm/trunk/CRM/Core/Payment/AuthorizeNet.php for his email). If you get it fixed, please consider posting a solution here, so other can get help with it in the future.

Fellow forumers, anyone else using Authorize.net encountered this problem before and came up with a solution perhaps?

Thx,
m

So I tried contacting Marshal and have not heard back yet.  I am needing to get this going by June 1.  Does anyone have the Authorize.net payment module going with CIviCRM 2.03 and Joomla 1.0.15?

Thanks!

I seem to have hit a dead end here.  :-\

Is anyone using the Authorize.net payment processor with CiviCRM 2.0.3?  I have it installed on a Joomla 1.0.15 site and a Joomla 1.5.3 site and receive the same error in both.
Code: [Select]
Payment Processor Error message
: 9001:Unknown System Error.

If others are not having this issue, then at least I know it is resolvable...

I have tried emailing Marshal and have not received a response.

I have the PCRE and cURL extensions enabled in php.  It is php 5.25.

Am I going to have to go back and install an older version of CiviCRM?

Thanks.

Not very helpful in your situation, but I would rather discourage CiviCRM downgrade - we're currently supporting 2.* only, so in case you encounter some problems, the main advice will be to upgrade again. Sorry for not being too helpful - again, we (CiviCRM team) are not supporting Authorize.net payment processor integration, it's a contributed feature and we don't have enough resources to cover every custom feature used in CiviCRM installations.

Thx,

Thanks Michał.

I would prefer not to downgrade, but I have to have it working. Downgrading is my last choice.  I upgraded my server to php5 so I could use the newer version of CiviCRM, so I definitely want to run the latest.

I understand CiviCRM doesn't provide support for the Authorize.net integration.  I was just hoping someone else who is using could tell me, yes it works for them so I know my attempts aren't futile.

Out of a time crunch, I went ahead and downgraded CiviCRM to the latest 1.9 version.  Authorize.net works almost perfectly with it. I got errors when I tried to use and MD5 Hash.

I will continue to try to figure out the problem with CiviCRM 2.0.x.  Would still love anyone else's input on if they have it running or not.

Thanks for this post.  I am getting an identical error on a Drupal install - ended up reversing the upgrade last weekend (was going from 1.9 to 2.03)  Tried everything I could think of, but was not able to fix this error.

Would consider this fairly critical, since can't process payments or contributions of any kind without it.  I am curious if its something in our configs, I would think this would be a very common issue...

Let me know if you made progress with the maintainer, and I can provide a test environment for any patches that might exist.  Planning to upgrade to 2.04 and see if that maybe fixed it...

Thanks

gbear,

What would you need to know about my config to see if we have something in common?  Would you want the system info from my Joomla install, or phpinfo()?

I just upgraded to 2.04 this morning and this seems to be fixed.

I was following the upgrade instructions for 1.9 -> 2 initially.

There was one item in 2.02 upgrade instructions: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Drupal+2.0+Sites+to+2.0.2
Step #4, that I hand't done before and might have been somehow connected.

Give 2.04 install a whirl.
