Moving CiviCRM from folder location to root issue ...
May 12, 2008, 07:42:27 am
So I've moved my Drupal site from a folder location on my server (/redesign) to the root of the public_html.  Everything is working smoothly.  I updated my civicrm.settings.php file to reflect the base_url of our site/server and CiviCRM appears to be behaving correctly.  However I am noticing that none of the CiviCRM icons/images are showing up - they all still have the old site URL reference (the /redesign folder location is in their URL).

Is there a config setting for getting the image paths updated?  Those are all stored in the /files directory of the Drupal site.  Where is the setting for this?

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

Thanks!

You are looking for the screen:  CiviCRM  » Administer CiviCRM  » Global Settings  » Resource URLs

Re: Moving CiviCRM from folder location to root issue ...

Ok, now I have another issue that looks like it's related to moving the site to root.  I have 2 event registration forms - the forms display without issue.  When I complete the form (either in test mode or live mode) and click "next" or submit, I get a white blank screen.  It doesn't show me the conformation page it should show - we had this working without issue when we had the Drupal site installed in its own sub folder.

So the form tries to go here (when I click submit/next):

/civicrm/event/register

But I get a white screen (blank) vs. the confirmation page .  Then when I try navigating back to our site home page I get this error:

warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/origamiu/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/Mail/mimePart.php:658) in /home/origamiu/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Utils/System.php on line 417.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Can you check your php / webserver error logs and see if there's clues there?

Try this:

Open up packages/Mail/mimePart.php in a text editor and go to the very bottom. Delete any blank lines or anything after the closing '?>' tag.

My copy had a blank line after the end tag, and I've seen this cause problems in other PHP files on some servers.

i've added this fix to the 2.0 release. in general please let us know about such things (via email / IM / IRC). incorporating such fixes is quite trivial and reduces support issues :)

It was never a problem for me, (I only discovered it today, which is why I never reported it) so it may not be the required fix in this case.
