Adding Membership Status to Advanced search output
July 04, 2014, 08:15:13 am
I just learned how to customize the output of an Advanced Search: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Format+Advanced+Search+Result+Columns. This is very helpful.

My custom search profile currently contains a single field: field Individual::Current Employer

I would like to add one additional field to the output of this report: Membership::Membership Status. However, when I select Membership from the dropdown list for Field Name (in CiviCRM Profile Fields), the following error message is displayed: Membership can not be used as a Result Column for profile searches.

Is there a way to work around this?

Thank you.

The reason this can't be done is because someone can have multiple memberships, but advanced search output should only have one line per contact.

You could do it with some custom coding, but you might be better served by using a membership report.
