Please help with Non-Monetary/In-Kind Contributions
May 12, 2008, 01:18:02 pm
I'm just starting with CiviCRM and have imported a few contacts to test and demo with.  I brought up info for one of my contacts and clicked on the Contributions tab.  There, of course, are no Contributions as of yet but it does display the following :

Quote
Contributions received from Clark Kent since inception. Click "Record Offline Contribution" to record a new offline contribution received from this contact.

However, clicking on the "Record Offline Contribution" link immediately errors out with the following :

Quote
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
is not of the type Integer
Return to home page.

I'm aware that it may be because I have yet to set up something in CiviCRM (or more specifically CiviContribute) but I cannot find what it is.

Also, what "field" would I use if, say, somebody donated a microphone to us?

Thanks in advance,
John

Pretty sure you would have to set up a custom field that you would put in a profile (if you want web visitors to input it themselves) in to which people could put things like in-kind offers. We have an 'involvement' custom group on a tab in which we record offers of services and products.

I will try to reproduce on demo site.

Question: I happen to be looking at different event/calendar modules (for Joomla).  Is what I see on the Drupal demo possible through Joomla (eg. Displaying CiviEvents in a calendar)?

Thanks in advance,
John

Well, clicking Record Offline Contribution worked just fine on the Demo Drupal site.  :'(

Guess I have to live without until 2.1 can come out to play!
