Multiple Phone Numbers Causes Duplicated records on export

This is a problem both with the normal export (though there is a workaround: drop the phone fields) and with exporting civicontribute records (where there is no workaround that we have found).

If you export civicontribute transactions, and users associated with those transactions have more than one phone number, the transaction is listed twice in the export (same transaction id) but different phone numbers.

This is obviously problematic if you are planning to do any usable calculations on these exports.  I am not sure if the same thing happens with other data for which a contact can have multiple values.

Has anyone else experienced this?  should this be filed as a bug?

This is with CiviCRM 1.9.12432

Can you reproduce this on the 2.0 demo and if so, please file an issue along with instructions on how to reproduce

if a bug, we'll fix in a future 2.x release. once u export, can u do a unique on contribute id's and get rid of duplicates in excel?

I have tried to recreate the problem on the demo, but to no avail.  I am not sure whether or not this means that the problem does not exist on the demo site.
Here is what i did:
  • selected and existing contact
  • added two phone numbers to its primary location
  • tried to export the contact (only one exported)
  • went to civicontribute, viewed contributions, selected one by contact (the one with two numbers) and exported.  only one row was exported.

most likely this means that the issue has been fixed in 2.0 :). note that the fix might have been a by-product of the schema change in 2.0
