Mapping with Google Map issue

I configured my database with the google API, and the map comes up but it only shows a general view of the world rather than mapping the address. Anyone have any clue what this might be and how I can fix it? we're using civicrm version 2.02

wild thought but i presume you are filling in the country field in the contact details, and that when you save the contact the 'map this address' shows up on the Summary page and that the '  Latitude, Longitude ' field on the Summary have some useful numbers in them?
