Here's a mystery 

Compiling end of year figures noticed no donations for Feb or March.

Checked backups and found they were in the database on 5th June and no longer there in either civicrm_contribution or  civicrm_financial _item.

Checked raw access logs for 5 & 6 Jun.
A contribution deleted via civi would yield the following
POST.....index.php?q=civicrm/contact/view/contribution&reset=1&action=delete&id=10788&cid=5294&context=contribution"

Nothing. (only 2 contributions deleted in June & neither on the dates concerned)

I haven't done any upgrades or restores from backups during this period nor have I or anyone else deleted them directly from the database.

So how is it possible? Easy enuff to restore them from backup but new boss (who already wants to dump civicrm for something with better social network integration) wants to know it won't happen again.

I don't think host restore theory works - change log indicates much activity in Feb/March
also member renewal payments are there for that period - only donations are missing.

I know it looks like one of us must have deleted them but how come nothing in access logs?
Is there anywhere else I can look for clues?
