Error when attemptin to send mail to contacts (not bulk)

The error message below. CiviCRM 4.2.15, Drupal 7.

Please don't create duplicate topics.

Forum support is provided by volunteers and it dilutes the community's resources if two different volunteers answer the same question.

I have deleted the duplicate.

i probably can't help but wondering what you have set at

.../civicrm/admin/setting/smtp?reset=1

and what does your 'save and send test email' give - the same error?

I have the default mail() and test messages go out correctly.

The problem with the mailer is myterious because the problem arises when the messages are over around ten or twelve lines. It does not relate to tokens, links or anything else. just length.
