4.5.beta 1 - New Mailing step 1 of 5 - very wide select boxes [FIXED]

Hi,

When creating a new mailing, the select boxes for lists and mailings are very wide.

Firebug tells me that in 4.4.2 the CSS style applied to the select element is ...

element.style {
    width: 240px;
}

... and in 4.5.beta1 it is ...

element.style {
    min-width: 240px;
    width: auto;
}

Ah I see it now - it's those pesky advmultiselect elements. The relative widths means that it will push the element off the screen entirely if there is a very long group name.
I think switching to select2 is a nice solution. Try https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-core/pull/3673

Ken - would be helpful if you can also apply the patch to your test site and verify that it provides a good UI experience for you given your groups.

Dave, Coleman,

The 'select2' boxes work well!
  • Display not too wide
  • Autocomplete allows me to type in partial names and see the potential matches
  • Easy to see what has been selected already
  • Easy to remove previously selected items
