Contribution Detail Report Sort by Receive Date

Hi CiviFolk,

In the Contribution Details report I'd like to see recent contributions sorted by receive date descending.

In the contribution detail report the only order by choices are contribution status, financial type, last name/first name, and payment instrument.

Shouldn't receive date be there as well?

My guess is that it's an oversight: nobody thought of it when the report was originally written, and nobody's built a patch to do it since.

Adding that should be really simple--I think I'll do it right now because it's so dumb that it's missing.  Stand by for a patch.

I think part of it is that people looking for recent contributions tend to just go to the Contributions Dashboard.

Okay, I opened an issue at https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-14991 and you can find the patch at https://github.com/agh1/civicrm-core/commit/ee36d21c6687d08f1b2e263621a50da56f472eb5

No problem!  To put this (or any report) on the dash, just open up Report Settings (below the report criteria) and check the Available for Dashboard box.

The Contribution Dashboard (civicrm/contribute?reset=1) is not a report... so no "settings" area with check box: "Available for Dashboard".

Sorry, I was confused what you meant with so many dashboards.  No you can't put the contribution dashboard on the main dashboard.  With that patch, though, you'll be able to put together a report that mimics it and put that on the dash.
