Activity Import- Importing Source Contact details

Hi!

We have a site which we recently upgrade from 4.3.7 to 4.4.5.

Previously we were running regular (quarterly) activity imports which included a source contact. On the first import post update we found that the option to include source details is no longer available.

I have found a similar forum entry on a related topic http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,29394.msg130206.html#msg130206 but it seems to be for a 4.3 version and was looking for assignee rather than source, and the post hasn't updated since October last year.

Has anyone come up against a similar problem and found a work round?

If I were to ask a developer to build a fix where should we start looking?

It appears that the activity import in CiviCRM 4.4.x has changed and we can't import to source or assigned to contacts. This is happening in the demo site too so it is a major change from CiviCRM 4.3.x.

Any suggested workarounds?

We've found an extension called CSV GUI Import to api (nz.co.fuzion.csvimport)
https://civicrm.org/extensions/api-csv-import-gui

We'll try using this extension to import contacts against activities and let people know the outcome.

Hi Jon and Craig,

Let us know how it goes with that extension. Since it is repeatable on demo, could you also report that as an issue / bug on the issue tracker, referencing this forum post.
