email to activity broken in 4.4.6?

email to activity has stopped working for my client.  I get a message from cron when the email to activity job runs (and it runs OK), and there has been an email detected, but no email appears against the relevant contact.  I guess this is not possible to test on the sandbox - unless somebody can tell me the email address to use?

I have changed passwords in case that was the problem - but nothing has happened that could have caused this problem, apart from upgrading to 4.4.6.  Which is why I suspect that update as the culprit.

Comments anyone?

In my live system the function email to activity works after 4.4.6 upgrade. Upgrade not affected the earlier settings.
