Activity Export with Relationships Error
July 17, 2014, 06:53:58 am
I raised this as a bug about a month ago on Jira, which is affecting a client that wants to export data into Excel. Unfortunately when it said Donald said it would be fixed in 4.6, I thought he meant 4.4.6!

https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-14834

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions of a workaround for this issue, since it will be a while before this is fixed in core?

Thanks
Alex

Not a fix I'm afraid but I'm currently struggling with the same issue.  One thing I did find by chance was that if you pull a Find Participant report (from Events / Find Participants menu) relationships are maintained.

For example, using Find Participants report I was able to pull out data about the Individual (ethnicity, age etc), Participant (event attended, date of event, evaluation data etc)  and Organisation (income, number of paid employees, number of volunteers, address etc) as the Employee Of relationship had been maintained.

I simply can't get the same information for Activity.  If I repeat the custom Fields as per the Find Participants custom field set I get a DB Syntax error message.

I'm not a developer (end user) but wonder how it is that reports for Events maintain the Employee Of relationship yet Activity doesn't.  I'm sure we can't be the only people suffering this issue.
