Using the 'delete' option in Addresses
May 13, 2008, 02:24:07 am
Okay - so had a contact that had some out of date info in an 'additional location' such as billing or other location. so i saw that there was a 'delete' option for that location. when i used it, it did provide a warning, but i still assumed it related to that location, not to all the other address details i had for that person including their 'use household' info - anyhow all the location data disappeared.

fortunately it was my partner so i know what needs to be in there, but i doubt this is functioning as it should.

I would demo on demo but i don't see 'other locations' on the page  :-\

And I just tested on ours by putting data back in some of those fields and then 'deleting' the location and it didn't cause havoc. But thought I should flag this now so if it happens again I may be able to point to a problem.

Peter - You can try this w/ additional location(s) on the demo by modifying the "Number of Locations" setting (Global Settings >> Address Settings) - http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/address?reset=1

If "Use Household Info" was associated w/ the deleted location's address, then I think that "change" makes sense. Would be interested in knowing what other data got "lost".
