Manually Adding Member & Contributions
May 30, 2007, 05:40:24 pm
I just finished installing Drupal & CiviCRM for a local non-profit.  We are still playing around to see how it will work out for our situation.  One of the questions so far is that a lot of our members are not active internet users.  Can CiviCRM be tailored to fit the online and offline members together?  I haven't found a way to manually input a contribution from a non-internet user.

What have I missed?
Thanks

Hey,

In both CiviMember and CiviContribute it's possible to import memberships and contributions (respectively) from CSV file, also when you get to single contact record, you can input them for given person/organisation/household by hand.

If that's not what you mean, can you pass on a little bit more details about functionality you want?

Thx,
m

A bit more specifically - to add an offline contribution from an individual member:
* use "Find Contacts" to find the member's contact record and click "View"
* click the "Contributions" tab
* click "New Contribution" and fill out the form

Similar process for Memberships - but use the "Memberships" tab once you get to the contact record.

1. If we receive both online and offline contributions for (say) Healthcare Initiative. How do I get the offline contributions to reflect in the Healthcare Initiative Contribution page?

2. Is it possible to have on the Civicontribute page, besides the Current Month-To-Date,Current Year-To-Date, Cumulative and Recent Contributions a list of donors for each Campaign with totals for each contribution page (offline and online) say, the Healthcare Initiative page with a list of donors specifically for this campaign. something like http://association.drupal.org/donors for each contribution page

1. you could potentially use Contribution Types for this purpose. So create a contribution type called: Donation - Healthcare Initiative and use the same type for both the online contribution page and your offline contributions

2. You can search by types and hence get the list of people who have contributed to the initiative. To expose this as a page, you'll have to use the contribution search api (coming in v1.8) and list the people in a format u like
