Event registration not being completed and sent to home page.
July 18, 2014, 07:33:38 am
We are having a situation where people are trying to register for an event. They are sent to the confirmation screen and then when they continue they are sent to the home page and the transaction is not completed. Now the confusing part is that it is happening for some and not others.

Any ideas of what could be causing that?

Here is the registration page: https://indyarts.org/start-with-art-registration

Thanks!
Shawn

I am still trying to troubleshoot this. I open to any ideas of things to look for?

Thanks!

(stating the obvious but) being able to reproduce is critical to debugging this

I don't have any concrete ideas but things to investigate include:

I noticed your site is available at https://www.indyarts.org/start-with-art-registration and https://indyarts.org/start-with-art-registration - does it make a difference where they start?
are they in / not in the DB already ?
are they logged in / out?
something to do with the fields they are filling in

Have you looked in the logs for error messages etc. around the time that people have the failed registration.  Logs = civicrm logs, cms logs, webserver logs, etc.

Other people might come up with better suggestions. Would be good to know if you have ruled anything out so far.

Michael

Michael McAndrew, you are the MAN!

It was the www or non-www starting address.

Thank you so much!
Shawn

Oh good.  So it was probably a cookies thing or similar.  For CiviCRM's benefit, it is best to force one or the other in your web server configuration.
