Membership goes in "New" status even though payment incomplete

Hello all !

I'm working on memberships and I found something odd.
I created a membership for one of my contact with a pending contribution, and right after , his membership was pending too.

Until this point everything's good but right after, I ended up saving my membership another time and I saw something very strange.
My membership is now in "New" status.

Is there something wrong, or is it the normal workflow of civicrm ?

That sounds like a bug to me - if the contribution is pending - the membership should remain pending, no?

Have you been able to reproduce on demo. What version are you using? If you can't reproduce on demo, might be something to do with the version you are using.  If you can reproduce, or you are using an older It might be that you have found a bug (in which case, worth checking to see if it has been reported / fixed).  And if / once  you are sure it is a bug that has not been fixed, please report :)

Hello Michael !

Yes I was able to reproduce it on demo, but unfortunately only on 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5 weren't accessible yesterday.

The fact is that pending contribution check is only avalaible on membership creation.

I think it make sense to check it everytime.

4.4 and 4.5 are up today in case you want to check there as well? I am not entirely clear on the issue, but if you think this is a bug, please do report.

Just tried on 4.4 and 4.5. Getting the same result as 4.3  :-\
