Mixed Profiles Error
July 25, 2014, 07:52:15 am
I recently updated to 4.5.6 on D7 and we are getting the following error message when a user attempts to use a contribution form:

Quote
Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
Mixed profile not allowed for on behalf of registration/sign up.

Here: https://data.lifechallengesemi.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=2

Stumped. Any thoughts?

Temporarily fixed this by deselecting the "allow contributions on behalf of organizations" option. Still not sure why allowing this results in an error.

The profile you select for "on behalf" must contain fields available for these entities: Organizations or Contacts.   That's all.  Not Contributions, not Individuals, nothing else.  So, "First Name" and other fields possibly associated with the Contribution (where did you hear about us?) are not allowed.

If you are confused, post a screenshot of the fields in the profile.

I ran into this same problem after upgrading from 4.4.4 to 4.5.3.  Prior to the upgrade, the Organization Profile in my contribution form was configured to use the reserved On Behalf Of Organization profile and everything worked fine, but after the upgrade the profile was no longer configured and was not included in the selection list.

The reason the profile was not in the selection list is because it supposedly contained Contribution and Membership fields.  For some reason, prior to the upgrade, the On Behalf Of Organization profile showed Contact, Organization, Contribution, and Membership under Type on the Profile listing page, even though there were no Contribution or Membership fields in the profile.

To fix the problem, I edited the On Behalf Of Organization profile by simply adding a new Contact field and then removing it.  Once I did this, the profile listing showed the Type fields properly (only Contact and Organization) and the profile was then available in the selection list on my contribution form.

I had the same problem upgrading from 4.4.3 to 4.5.6 (on Drupal 7.26). However, I did not find it necessary to add a field and then remove it. All I had to do was to set the (previously undefined) Organization Profile to New Organization.
