I'm setting up a contribution page for a new membership type. The membership application requires that the applicant uploads some files, so I thought I could add this to a custom data set linked to the individual then create a profile with the custom fields, and include the profile in the contribution page.

But these fields are only needed for membership sign-up, and not renewal.

Is the simple solution to have multiple contribution pages linked to the same membership, and just direct the user to one or the other depending on whether they want to sign up or renew?

Or is there a better solution?
