I am trying to let current members search for contact information on other current members. I have tried adding the "Search CiviCRM" block and making it visible to authenticated users; it appears when logged in as user 0, but it does not appear when logged in as a current member. I haven't found anything in the forum or wiki to direct a solution to this. I would appreciate any help.

If you want to expose the full set of contact data - then you need to give authenticated (or a more specific role) the following permissions under Drupal Access Control:

access CiviCRM
view all Contacts

Most sites however use CiviCRM Profiles to create a search / listings interface which only exposes selected contact fields. You only need to grant the 'profile listings and forms' permission for authenticated users in this case.
