Event does not show up in Event Name list on Find Participants page, why?
July 31, 2014, 05:16:03 am
Greetings,

With CiviCRM 4.3.4 for a particular client of ours, they created a brand new event after we upgraded their serer to 4.3.4.

That new Civi Event does not show up on the Find Participants page in the Event Name list.

I inspected two particular events - the one that does not show up, which is an event for 2014, and one that does which was the same event for year 2013. I detected no significant differences that would cause it to not be shown in the Event Name list.

Further I went directly to MySQL to query those two event ID's. I still do not see anything of significance to not have the new event shown in the Event Name list.

Thus, coming here to inquire what is preventing the new Event from being shown in the Event Name list on the Find Participants page.

I am thankful,

How similar are the names? Perhaps the new one has a forbidden character in it, or starts with a number. (I once had a problem something like that for a field in civicrm but I can't remember the details.)

(I presume your new event is active.)

Same name apart from the year "2013" vs "2014"

Yes, the 2014 event is active, the 2013 one however is no longer active... yet still appears in the  Event Name list on the Find Participants page.

I am thankful,

Also check is_template field. But...
CiviCRM 4.3 is no longer maintained and has some critical security issues. Upgrading may solve your problem and it will solve the more important security problems as well.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

Also check is_template field.

Which tab should that be on? I do not see such on any of the tabs.

Oh, is_template in the DB table, jah 0 for both.

Can't. This is as far forward as their old MySQL 5.0.95 could upgrade. The incremental DB schema upgrade for 4.3.5 crashed, so I had to roll back to where I started from and upgrade only to 4.3.4. New server coming soon.

Come at it from another angle... How can I look up the SQL tied to the search icon in that field? Perhaps that will provide a clue as to why this "2014" record is getting skipped.

I am thankful,
