Seems to me that the PP Name is what shows on a Contribution page
and when we have a radio button for it and for PayLater what works in my view is to call them
- Credit Card
- Cheque/Bank Transfer
or something similar

Calling the 'credit card' PayPal, or DPS or somesuch is meaningless to users.

But now i hit a client who has two PPs

So when I set up the new one I can't name it Credit Card as it is 'already in use'

How do others get around this. For now I am naming it Credit Card (DPS) but still seems user unfriendly.

Agreed - the string exposed to the user generally should be "Pay online now via Credit Card", to be consistent with "Pay later" alternative, rather than "Footech InterpaySys GmbH". That's a name for site admin as they switch between processors.
