We had a block on our site that allowed people to sign up for our email list. This meant a lot of spammers (we've since switched it to a link to the profile so we can use a captcha). But we need to clear out all the spammers.

We do a blank search on the main search page so that it pulls up everyone. The spammers are pretty easy to catch since they don't use real names. I can select and delete them for the first 5 pages or so. After that, no matter how many records I select it says I've selected 0. I try redoing the search, clearing my cache, etc. and still the problem persists.

I'd really like to get the list cleaned up so we can send out an email, but I need to get these people off our list first so they don't start spamming back to the email we send from.

Any idea what could be causing it? We're using version 4.4.6 on Drupal 7. Thanks!

I'm doing the delete on a per page basis. I go through page one, select everyone who needs to be deleted, delete them. I'm taken back to page one. I check to make sure no more are at the bottom and then if not, I go to the next page. Repeat. I get to about page 5 or so and I can't select anyone on the page.

I clear my cache, refresh, and do a new search. Go straight to that page. Try to select someone. Can't. It's still telling me 0 records are selected.

Just realized something -

If I don't change how many records are on a page (usually I change it to 100), I can delete on many pages. Not only can I do one page at a time, but I can select some on a page, go next, select some on that page, go next. I ended up being able to delete all the spam entries into our database. But I had to do it with the default number of records per page instead of changing it to 100.

The funny thing was the problem I was running into I wasn't selecting over multiple pages. I would select on one page, go through the delete process. Move to page 2, go through the process. Move to page 3, etc.... I was doing each page individually. By the time I got to about page 5 or 6, I couldn't select anyone. I could run a fresh search, tell it to go to that page, and still couldn't select anyone. It was weird.

For now I'll just leave the number of records shown at the default level.
