How can I create event with attendees, hosts AND volunteers?
August 07, 2014, 05:12:13 am
Hi,

when I create an event, I have the option to select the participants role, I have to choose one role.
But how can I create an event where I can set I need 50 attendees, 2 hosts and 5 volunteers (for instance)?

regards

The default role is the one people get when they sign up online. But once they're registered you can assign them a different role.
My advice is to install the civivolunteer extension. This provides a sign-up form for volunteers too.
So then you will have:
- The normal registration form for attendees
- The CiviVolunteer form for volunteers
- 2 hosts to manually add yourself - not bad

I have looked at the civivolunteer extension, but I noticed that this is not compatible with civicrm 4.5

Do you know if there will be compatibility when the 4.5 version goes in release?

The CiviVolunteer extension is compatible with 4.5, and will be released at the same time as 4.5 stable.
But if you are using 4.5 beta and want to try CiviVolunteer with it, you can download it here:

I'm not sure HEAD is stable at present. Next week I'm going to look at a release for 4.5. It will probably be just a 1.3-ported-to-4.5 release, with the new features completed later this month in 1.4.
