Attachment tab is missing in Notes section

I just installed CiviCRM and one feature I looked forward to was the ability to add notes with attachments, which I saw in the demo. However, when I went to add one I found no attachment tab? Please help!

Check Administer -> System Settings -> Misc
and verify that your number of attachments and attachment file size settings are both > 0.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

They both have the default value of 3 and 2 respectively. I did not change them, but I checked just now to make sure.

Yea that's weird.
If you are in a position to do so, how about testing it with 4.5? Problem might be fixed in the new version.

At Administer > System Settings > Directories is there a location for Custom Files?

At Administer > System Settings > Safe File Extensions do you have at least some file extensions enabled?

Hi,

directories and extensions are as set by default. I thought it might be a permission issue, I noticed there is an ACL called Edit All Contacts in the demo, so I added that but it made no difference. I then thought it could be a folder permission problem, and changed the custom folder permissions from 755 to 777 but that did nothing either so I changed it back.

When changing the folder permissions I noticed an error log. Some of the errors seem to be caused by attempts at creating triggers. Could this be a reason?
