On my test set up I've disabled the CiviEvent component so that it marries up more closely to a current project I'm working on, enabling me to compare with 4.4.6 more easily.

Looking at price sets, I note that when selecting "Manage Price Sets" from the "Memberships" menu I see the following message:

"Price sets allow you to set up multiple event registration options with associated fees (e.g. pre-conference workshops, additional meals, etc.). Configure Price Sets for events which need more than a single set of fee levels."

That's odd I thought. Not only have I disabled the Event component, but I selected this option from the Memberships menu, yet this message seems to be all about events.

It's the same in 4.4.6 - presumably the problem is historical.

Happy to offer a suggestion.

Instead of: "Price sets allow you to set up multiple event registration options with associated fees (e.g. pre-conference workshops, additional meals, etc.). Configure Price Sets for events which need more than a single set of fee levels. "

How about:

"Price sets allow you to set up flexible multi-option pricing schemes for your contribution, event and membership pages. Use a price set if the standard pricing options are insufficient for your needs."
