Installation error

When i try to install Civicrm 4.4.6 in Joomla 3.3.3 using the built in extension installer, the installation doesn't finish. In the bottom left corner i can see the progress go to 100%, then to "waiting for server" and then the screen just goes back to the extension installer. No message, no error, it just goes back to the uploader. PHP and MYSQL versions are above the requirements.

Did you do the 2. Download and Un-tar CiviCRM Code step?

Uploading the package using the install from directory option did work. Thanks for the quick reaction anyway!
